Happy Birthday to Kaia and my Brother Matt!!!
We visited Lauren this morning, and her condition continues to be stable. They are slowly reducing the pain meds, and she seems to be tolerating it. She remains on the vent until her blood gases improve, however. All other vitals are stable and good...So, no real news. She is doing what she should be doing, which is sleeping and healing.
Unfortunately, Connor seems to have come down with the flu and Kaia pulled a stitch and has been layed up all day. Fortunately, Kaia's mom is here today to help take the pressure off of me.

Happy Birthday, Kaia! Sounds like you may need a "do over" if you've had to spend the day in bed - see if you can't make the celebration last the rest of January. Plus, you have lots to celebrate with Lauren recovering so well. Hope Connor feels better soon.

We have been thinking of you all today. So glad that Lauren continues to heal well. Kaia, what a bummer of a way to spend YOUR (and Matty's) day, but I bet you are still smiling that Lauren's surgery went well. We owe ya a big piece of b-day cake!
